Brianna (Bri) Hicks (she/her) is a master’s level intern with a passion for helping young children. She has extensive experience working with children and neurodivergent individuals. Bri aims to create a safe space for every client with her warmth and acceptance. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, reading, coloring, and playing with her puppy.
Training and Education:
Bri is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Towson University. She graduated from Towson University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. For the past three years, she has been working as a research assistant at Kennedy Krieger Institute within the Center for Autism Services, Science, and Innovation (CASSI). Throughout her time at CASSI, she mainly worked with children under the age of five through research studies focused on the early detection and intervention of autism spectrum disorder. Her experiences at CASSI have fueled her passion for working with young children and their families. In 2019, she also held an undergraduate internship at the Maryland Anxiety Center in Towson, MD, where she gained a deeper understanding of anxiety-related disorders and their treatment. Bri is excited to have joined the Creative Psychological Practice and looks forward to building upon her clinical experience in a setting that allows her to pursue her passions.

Therapeutic Approach:
Bri aims to create a safe space where her clients feel comfortable and heard. Through a multicultural lens, she tailors her approach to meet the needs of each client, aiming to provide a personalized and effective therapeutic experience. She takes a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporating client-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and play therapy methods. Bri enjoys working with children and is also open to working with teens and adolescents.
