About Jazmin Rivera

Jazmin Rivera is a Licensed Master Social Worker who deeply believes in the power of safe, authentic relationships to bring about meaningful change. She brings a grounded, compassionate presence and strives to create a space where clients feel safe to be themselves and explore what’s going on beneath the surface– whether through words or play.

Outside of the therapy room, Jazmin finds balance through movement, traveling, live music, and spending time with loved ones.

Training and Education

Jazmin brings five years of experience working with children, adolescents and families across both school-based and clinical settings. Jazmin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Science from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2020 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2023.

Jazmin has a background of non-profit work providing school-based mental health services in Baltimore City Public Schools, where she supported students in navigating emotional and behavioral challenges impacting their classroom experience. Jazmin is experienced in helping children build coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and improve social skills to foster success both in and out of the classroom.

For the past two years, Jazmin has been actively working toward her Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential, deepening her clinical expertise in using play as a tool for processing complex emotions and trauma.

Therapeutic Approach

Jazmin’s work is grounded in trauma-informed care and child-centered play therapy where the child takes the lead in expressing themselves and processing through play while a grounded, attuned, and emotionally safe space is provided for the client to explore, process, and grow. Jazmin believes that healing happens through authentic relationships– especially when clients feel safe enough to be seen and supported without judgment.

Whether working with a child processing through play, a teen navigating life transitions and figuring out who they’re becoming, or a family working through challenges together, Jazmin meets each client with empathy, curiosity, and care. She tailors her work to honor each individual’s pace and process, helping them feel more connected, empowered, and aligned with their true self.
