Training and Education
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and a Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and she gained practical experience through internships at Gifts Mental Health Clinic and Zen for Change.
Keisharely is also a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional and has extensive experience working with families and students from elementary, middle, and high school. This has honed her expertise in addressing a range of issues that affect young people. Her training and education have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in counseling, and she remains committed to staying up-to-date with new developments through continued learning and training.
Therapeutic Approach
Keisharely's therapeutic approach is rooted in helping clients develop personal coping strategies and emotional regulation. She draws from a variety of evidence-based models, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, applied behavioral analysis (ABA), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). In addition to her private practice experience, Keisharely has also provided mental health services in school-based programs, where she gained valuable experience advocating for clients who require accommodations in the school setting. Her experience includes clients with IEP or 504 Plan needs, demonstrating her commitment to supporting clients from all backgrounds and circumstances.
