Olivia Kline (she/her) is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals navigating trauma, attachment and family dynamic challenges, depression, and anxiety. Olivia works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is developmentally informed and individualized, ensuring that each client receives care tailored to their unique experiences and needs.

About Olivia Kline

Olivia Kline (she/her) approaches therapy with warmth, safety, and collaboration at the core of her work. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely supported throughout their therapeutic journey. Olivia tailors her approach to honor each individual’s unique identity, experiences, and needs. Outside the therapy room, Olivia enjoys reading, practicing Pilates, and exploring local thrift shops. She also co-owns a small vintage clothing business with her sister, blending her love for creativity and sustainability.

Training & Education

Olivia is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Human Development and Neuroscience from the University of Maryland. During her undergraduate years, Olivia worked as a behavioral technician, supporting youth with autism spectrum disorder. Following graduation, she worked as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the Clinical and Translational Neuroscience Branch. At the NIH, her work focused on exploring the connection between genetics, brain function, and behavior in individuals with Williams syndrome and schizophrenia. She also contributed to research examining the effects of puberty on brain development. Currently, as a graduate student, Olivia continues to pursue her passion for research through her work with Dr. Maggie Parker at GW, with a new focus on children and play therapy. Last year, she worked as a counseling intern at GW’s Community Counseling Services Center and looks forward to continuing her growth as a clinician.

Therapeutic Approach

Olivia offers a compassionate and affirming environment where clients feel safe, seen, and supported. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing primarily from psychodynamic and person-centered frameworks. She incorporates techniques from various modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic practices, to meet each client’s unique needs. Olivia works through a trauma-informed, multicultural lens and is committed to creating an inclusive space that honors diversity and the complexities of intersectionality. She is also excited to expand her skills by integrating play therapy and expressive arts to support clients in exploring and expressing themselves fully.
